An inky blue wedding dress was what Elaine was set on when we met. We played around with many shades of blue, much lighter ones and stronger ones. We then looked at this stunning inky blue colour, and it was set.
The wedding was going to be a small affair with all the couples, close family, in the library at the stunning The Hub, followed by a meal. In the evening all their friends had been invited to a grand party in the big hall at The Hub.
The dress is constructed with a boned structured bodice in a luxurious marocain silk crepe. Then the inky blue wedding dress has a lace jacket heavily beaded lace. Usually, lace is a traditional floral design, but this is contemporary with geometric stripes. The jacket sits on a wide waistband which ties in a big elegant bow at the back with sashes hanging down. Through the jacket v-neck, we get a glimpse of the silk buttons and loops in the dress. When we work in lace with embellishment, it often is labour intensive, we take the beads off at the seams. We then sew the seams and then finish all the seams by adding the beads or embellishments back on.
Elaine had a satin belt in the matching colour with crystal embellishment. She took the jacket off and put the belt on for the dancing.
