Chantilly lace for church wedding

Chantilly lace dress for a stunning church wedding Lynsey’s wedding took place in Colinton Church, with the reception afterwards at Mansfield Traquair. Her dress was made of beautiful Chantilly lace. Lynsey’s dress had a lovely classic look, because of the Chantilly lace. We also made her bridesmaids’ dresses and her mother’s outfit for the wedding. She had her bridesmaids to match her in pale pink silk crepe with matching lace edges, with different necklines. We made her mum a blue and pearly grey outfit, and she had a headdress to match made by the wonderful Bridget Webster. Lynsey did her own makeup which was stunning,…

Champagne Satin Dress for Wedding

Samantha looked stunning in her champagne dress. Samantha’s dress was truly stunning. It was champagne satin and a silk crepe skirt. It also had a white lace overlay and a low V-shaped front and a low back. A ribbon was used to create a belt, which matched the colour under the lace.  In addition, back of the dress was secured by buttons and loops, with added lovely detail to the back. Her dress also had a small train. Samantha also wore a long veil for part of the day, which looked stunning combined with the train. Some of these photos…

Wedding weekend at Achnagairn Estate Stephanie and her husband run their own business and so have very busy schedules and limited time off. Their ideal wedding day was to be a relaxing day in the Highlands at Achnagairn Estate, surrounded by their friends and family. Stephanie’s dress was a definite “Stephanie dress” as described by herself. It was full length with a loosely fitted skirt which was made from French silk chiffon. The top was fitted and made from guipure lace, with long sleeves and a V-neckline. We also made Stephanie’s sister an outfit for the wedding. It was made from…

Jayne’s autumn wedding was inspired by geometric shapes an art deco. Her wedding took place in Autumn in Edinburgh, which is where Jayne and her husband John first met while on a work placement in Edinburgh. Jayne’s dress had a ruched bodice with a sweetheart neckline, with embroidered tulle lace coming up to the neck and creating the sleeves.  Here are some words she had to say about us: “Meeting Mette and having her create my dream wedding dress as a fantastic experience. Mette is a fabulous designer who through listening to my ideas and with her design skill created a…

Nature Inspired Wedding

Beautiful bohemian style wedding Julia’s beautiful wedding took place in Kilver Court Gardens in Somerset. She was inspired by the idea of a bohemian wedding, with nothing too commercialised. Here are a few words from Julia about her wedding day: “I was attracted by the idea of a rustic bohemian wedding with nothing too commercialised. It had to be down to earth and incorporating the things I love; poetry, nature and my love of my family and my Somerset roots. As I wanted the whole day to be personal, small and from the heart, a lot was homemade. My whole family…

That’s exactly what they had, and they chose Lothian Chambers for a lovely simple registry. They then walked down the Royal Mile to the City Chambers for their wedding reception, therefore giving them the perfect Scottish wedding! The photographs are courtesy of Nick Mailer and…

Nicaraguan and Scottish Wedding

Beautiful Nicaraguan and Scottish Wedding Natalia had so so many things organised for her absolutely epic barn wedding in Knockraich of Fintry. However, she didn’t have her dress organised – I think we started with only about 7 weeks to go. Natalia was hugely involved, she really has an eye for design and details. Natalia’s mum is from Nicaragua, the ideas and designs Natalia was going for had a real Latin feel to them. The venue was dressed from top to tail the day before by the bride and groom, their families and anyone who cared to help (which was…

Beautiful Blue Wedding Dress

Beautiful blue dress in silk panels Susan had all the ideas and thoughts about her wedding, but when she came to me, she knew the only thing she had not got organised was her dress. She had been frustrated by the lack of individuality in the dresses available to buy in the traditional shops. Susan’s favourite colour is blue and she suits that colour so so much. It was, therefore, the obvious colour for her wedding dress. Susan chose a blue silk dress in panels, with internal lace up and buttons and loops at the back. She then had a…
