From the minute we heard from Mary, we loved all her ideas of a wedding in the garden on the amazing estate called The Haining near Selkirk. It looks absolutely stunning and they could provide all that the young couple wanted for their big day.
Mary is a rare breed as the bride goes, as this is her first and only attempt at a wedding. She is so lucky, she didn’t swap and change the date and venue, and numbers many times over.
This Bride is one of my own heart, a real outdoors girl who loves horses and dogs. The dogs came to the wedding too.
Mary wanted a dress she could feel amazing in, but also be comfortable. She wanted a soft romantic, but yet contemporary look to her dress. A dress that would look amazing in a garden setting.
I am so pleased with how it turned out. The skirt is a full circle silk chiffon skirt. so much stunning silk in that skirt. She then had a boned bodice with a sweetheart neckline. On top of that, she wore a lace bolero from our collection. It’s cute with the flared sleeves and really contemporary with the style of lace.
Mary’s mum and Mary came to see me and brought this most amazing antique veil. It is silk tulle and covered in hand embroidery. I am so in love with this veil. Together we picked the lace and silks to match the colour of the veil and we managed to get a comb fixed in the veil without cutting or stitching in it.
To complete the outfit Mary picked the most incredible boots from Fairfax & Favor. They will be her best boots forever.
