Harris Tweed Wedding Dress

Harris Tweed Wedding dress with Chantilly lace and silk in red colour. What else could a bride called Rot for middle name wear for her wedding on Luskentyre beach?

The Red Wedding, in tweed from Harris, silk and lace.

Nadin’s dress was a bespoke wedding dress. The bodice was made in a red and burgundy harris tweed, we cut it on the bias. I thought it suited Nadins hourglass shape much better than the rigid shapes of the check. To that, we added lovely red Chantilly lace sleeves. The skirt was red shot with black Orissa silk, pleated to the bodice at the waist. The join of the bodice and skirt was covered by a silk ribbon. The dress had buttons at the back, we had made in the silk material. The dress was literally all the reds for her Harris Tweed Wedding Dress, I was so so happy when I saw the lovely photographs Lynne Kennedy took of the lovely couple on the stunning beach.

It was an absolute pleasure to make Nadin’s wedding dress. Our relationship goes way back. Nadin made a lovely little film about my shop years ago. We met when we both worked at the same wedding.

Since then we have enjoyed each other’s help and feedback on business matters, as we both have the daily challenges of running a small business.

Nadin has later introduced me to the inspiring women of  BAWE.

Nadin and Mo got engaged on Harris, their engagement film went viral, called: “From Harris to Lewis with Love”  you can see it on the link.  I hear Nadin and Mo have now become well known amongst the Islanders since posting the little film online.

Nadin and Mo are both amazing photographers, and I am sure they will go to amazing places and take amazing photographs.

Thank you so much for letting me make your dress Nadin, I can’t wait till we work together again. Thanks not least to Lynne Kennedy Photography for letting us share this beautiful wedding.
