Vintage Style Wedding dress with Silk Veil
We have long been a fan of Adelaide’s Secret Garden. Adelaide is the creator of stunning floral displays, She makes wedding and event flowers to die for. Therefore, she choosing us for designing her bespoke wedding dress was just wonderful. I always thought Adelaide’s floristry was full of lovely textures. I really wanted to mirror that for her dress design.
She had a lovely little scrapbook with ideas, which we went through on her first visit, and we immediately knew this was going to be amazing.
Adelaide and her mum had seen a few vintage style silk trims in London. We used them on the neckline, the hemline and around the silk veil. It gave the whole look an organic feel, because of it all being natural fibers.
The fitted style suited Adelaides petite figure to a T. we made a square neckline on the front and deep V-neck on the back, all edge with the vintage style lace. The belt detail was made in pure silk satin. It was pretty and the subtle change of texture just added a bit of detail.
I think you would be hard pushed to find a couple better connected in the “wedding-world”. Adelaide and Rory had amazing ambitions of doing both food and event decor on their own. The groom is Rory from Ror’s Kitchen. I can’t believe how well they pulled it off. The Ceremony was at Glenalmond College and the reception at Gask House. Daisy Fay’s Weddings and Events managed the bar.
Mother of Bride
Adelaide’s dear mum came to all the fittings. She brought along a lovely embroidered silk coat she had. We made her a stunning DuckEgg blue silk georgette dress with pintuck details and a silk satin belt, to match Adelaide’s Dress details.
The Curries were on hand all day to take photographs and we absolutely love their style.
