Royal inspiration wedding dress

Royal inspiration

Royal inspiration wedding dress and vintage details were the inspiration for this beautiful bride. While on a short trip to Edinburgh with her lovely mum travelling from the South of England they came by my shop and popped in for a chat. That dress This gorges bride was full of beautiful and different ideas for a wedding dress. The first was a dress worn by Princess Margaret designed by Christian Dior, she loved the a-symmetric neckline of that dress. Sian had seen it in the Museum of London here is the link.  The bride was set on a pure white…

Mrs and Mrs at The Treehouse

Anna and Jackie became Mrs & Mrs at The Treehouse at Loch Goil in August, what a dream like venue on a beautiful summers day. We absolutely loved the brief for Anna and Jackie’s wedding. They wanted a fun informal “weather permitting” outdoors wedding at this beautiful wedding venue in the summer in Scotland. Anna was set on a short lace wedding dress. She likes this stunning lace in a porcelain colour. The lace has beading and an Art deco design. The lace has gorgeous edging and it’s denser on one side and become less dense as we come further…

Winter Princess Bride

winter princes bride

Winter Princes bride Francesca, planned her wedding for a long time and Covid intervened with all her amazing plans. The bride’s family lives in Canada, which made the plans all the more tricky to do. That dress The thing which was not up for debate was the wedding dress and it had to be bespoke. Francesca wanted this full skirt with a long train, she wanted some shoulder detail and she wanted detachable sleeves, really tight with button details. She wanted buttons all the way down the back. Yes, a lot of things to get on with. Lots of traditional…

Myanmar inspired wedding dress

Myanmar inspired wedding dress

Such an exciting wedding dress to make, as Nuam is from Myanmar and wanted to incorporate the traditional elements of the national costume the “longyi” but also have a traditional “western” wedding outfit. I absolutely love the final look of it. She suits it so well. So we made the “longyi” skirt which is like a wrap-around skirt. We made it in the heavy Mikado fabric. We also made a boned bodice in the same fabric, to go over the top. Then we spent quite a bit of time choosing the embellishments. Nuam went for lovely guipure lace motifs down…

Gorgeous Crepe Wedding Dress

That gorgeous crepe wedding dress Hilary was the loveliest bride to deal with. She came to me with a rough sketch of the wedding dress she had made herself. She had not tried any dresses on and didn’t really fancy going through all that. We went through a lot of details about the design, the fastening and the cut and the details. She would really like a very minimalist outfit. I love minimalist so much. But the challenge is to get enough detail that it looks interesting and special, I felt we absolutely managed to do that on Hilary’s dress….

Sequins and Stunning lace

Sequins and stunning lace and beautiful headdress… so proud, I felt it all came together perfectly. So lovely that Moira had heard about Freja from a few different people and she came in to talk about her wedding dress. She had some ideas and I pointed her towards this beautiful sophisticated lace. The lace is a contemporary design with a scallop leafy design and shimmering sequins. The lace is made with a textured thread that looks like linen and gives it lots of character. The Dress also had a deep cowl neck collar on the back. It was made in…

Scottish Norwegian alliance

Scottish Norwegian alliance This beautiful wedding was a long time coming. Fiona and Mharit asked us to make Mharits wedding dress, this made my day. This in fact goes a long way back, in fact, January 2019. Planning a wedding is hard. Add into that, 2 countries. Then add covid. The wedding was planned a few times over, and each time re-arranged due to Covid. Each time was so upsetting. But eventually, they got their perfect day. I loved Mharit’s story. Beautiful talented young Scottish silver and goldsmith (see her beautiful work here), falling in love with a Norwegian man…

Jumpsuit for Scottish Highland wedding

jumpsuit bride in the highlands

Jumpsuits for weddings, I think my new favourite thing. I think Rachel wore it better than anyone. I was over the moon when Rachel contacted me about her picking a jumpsuit for her Scottish Highland wedding. She had fixed ideas on style and together we chose the fabrics to achieve the soft heavy drape of the palazzo pant style trouser part and smooth dull satin for the bodice. We structured the bodice with heavy interlining and bones to make it super sharp looking. I love the contemporary look of it. Rachel bought a mesh wrap to wear over the…

Short champagne wedding dress

short champagne wedding dress with lace

Short Champagne wedding dress for an intimate wedding at the Carberry Tower.  This is such a gorgeous wedding which finally got to go ahead after the covid restrictions. Alison had lovely ideas for her dress. We discussed the ideas and looked at materials, she went for a champagne pink satin dress with a sweetheart neckline. She had a chantilly lace overlay on the bodice. The bodice had a wide neckline and a beaded lace trim on the hem. She had little cap sleeves with a scalloped hem.  All fully bespoke for her. It has been such a pleasure working with…
