Lochside Wedding

Lochside wedding dress

We loved being part of this wedding. Amelia does not usually wear dresses. Well, I guess wedding dresses are not the usual capsule wardrobe for anyone. But we needed to make her a dress she felt comfortable in and like herself.

We genuinely think we achieved that. Her dress is one of my favourite dresses for a long time. Classic and simple cut. In exquisite silk fabrics.

No embellishment, just clean, uncluttered lines.

The bodice part of the dress is made in a pure silk crepe. She has a deep silk satin cowl neck at the back and silk-covered buttons.

We then made a full-circle skirt with a train. Two layers of silk, one organza, one dupioni, and an incorporated petticoat make up the skirt.

I love the simplicity of it all and somehow, the dress has such a vintage feel to it.

Amelia’s 2nd dress

Amelia was so pleased with the dress that she asked for a similar one to be made in a lovely blue shade.

Amelie picked this to wear for the ceilidh dancing with quirky shoes from irregular choice.

Mother of the Bride

It was a pleasure dressing Amelia’s mum, too. We made her a stunning green pure silk dupioni coat, shawl collar, and a half-belt detail. It was perfect on top of her beautiful silk Devore dress.

Friends and family people travelled far and wide to the Oban wedding destination. Lochnell Castle is looking fabulous on the lochside. The plans were for the ceremony to occur outside on the stunning grounds, and the unpredictable Scottish weather stayed perfectly stable for the beautiful couple.

We are so excited to share these beautiful images of this classic lochside wedding, the dress, party dress, and mother-of-the-bride outfit.
