For Jenny’s wedding we made her this beautiful modern silk crepe jumpsuit.
Initially Jenny wanted a 2 piece suit for her wedding. The style was to be contemporary with clean, tailored and minimalistic details. During our initial meeting Jenny showed photographs which she collected of the style and fit she liked. After discussing we settled with a 2 piece outfit for her wedding. This was a halter neck style top with an open back, asymmetric pleated detailing and a long ribbon on the back which mimics a veil in a more modern way. The trousers were wide flowy palazzo style which are high waisted. The main fabric for this was a luxurious pure silk crepe. Silk satin and chiffon was also used for the folded detailing to create contrast.
We later decided along with Jenny to make it into a jumpsuit instead of the 2 piece suit. This was because during the fitting stage Jenny felt she wanted the top to be very fitted however it was difficult to create the structure on the top because of the open back. Therefore we decided to turn it into a jumpsuit. The silk crepe wedding jumpsuit came out so well as it gave Jenny the fit that she wanted and looked so beautiful and modern.
Mother of the Bride Outfit
We also got to work on an outfit for Jenny’s mum, Irene, for the wedding. For Irene’s Mother of the Bride outfit she wanted an empire line cut dress which has again a modern, clean and minimalistic look. Along with this was a short jacket with a back to front style with loops and covered buttons on the back. We went for a teal silk crepe with satin as the contrasting fabric for the details on the dress.
The Wedding
Jenny’s wedding took place in Glasgow in the newly refurbished museum, The Burrell Collection. The venue looked incredible with all the modern and spacious architecture. Many great suppliers were involved in this wedding some to mention are, Hair by Bellame Hair, Make up by Sarah Jane Macinnes and Flowers by Cherry Blossom
