Malaysian Wedding – Bride and Mother of the Bride

A stunning Malaysian wedding Jade and her husband are both Malaysian, and so decided to have Malaysian wedding celebrations in the UK and Kuala Lumpur. They both have studied and worked in the UK and so were delighted to invite their family over. After their Cambridge celebrations, they flew to Kuala Lumpur for a 3-day event where she wore her wedding dress, as well as beautiful traditional Malaysian dress. Jade and I shared a Pinterest board to exchange ideas, which was filled with western wedding dresses with oriental influences. Things such as kimono bows, etc. Her dress was made from crisp…

Elegant wedding dress for Highland Wedding

Fiona had a simple yet elegant wedding dress Sometimes, less is more! Especially with dresses such as this. Fiona’s dress was wonderfully simple. The dress had lovely clean lines, with a fitted and slightly structured bodice and a loosely fitted and flowing skirt.  The bodice had a high neckline and subtle lace overlay to add some texture. The skirt was plain pure silk crepe and with a full length with a train. Therefore, this made for a classic, elegant wedding dress. Around the waist, there was a beaded embellished belt which added a little extra sparkle. Fiona also wore a cathedral length…

Beautiful Tenerife destination wedding

Destination weddings are always exciting, so when Hazel mentioned her wedding was in Tenerife, we knew it would be great fun to make her dress! Hazel’s husband is from Tenerife, and so for their wedding, they decided to jet out to Tenerife. It was beautiful, and their family all flew out to have a lovely few days in the sunshine for their wedding. Hazel’s “dress” wasn’t quite a dress – she has two skirts and a bodice which she mixed and matched! This was a perfect idea for Tenerife, as it meant she could have the long, more traditional style…

Silk crepe for Merchants Hall wedding

Rachel had a lovely silk dress for her wedding. Rachel’s dress was beautiful and made from silk. I was over the moon to hear Rachel wanted us to design and make her wedding dress. She is a well-known face and pretty much all my mum friends have been to Monkey Music Edinburgh. She has created such a wonderful business with the best reputation. Rachel had picked a lovely lot of wedding suppliers, whose work I all adore, so it was a lovely handful of beautiful work delivered to her and Ray’s big day. We used a silk crepe for the softly…

Bespoke Dress for Boat Ceremony

A beautiful bespoke dress for a wedding on the water We thoroughly enjoyed working with Lindsay to create her bespoke wedding dress. it is one of our favourite wedding dresses. Here are some words from her about the dress and about her gorgeous day: “I went to Mette with a vague idea of what I wanted. A Pinterest, a bridesmaid and a friend, and a few hours later had a drawing of a dress that I loved! Mette knew exactly what I wanted. Even before I did! She picked out details that featured several times in the ideas that I…

Nature Inspired Wedding

Beautiful bohemian style wedding Julia’s beautiful wedding took place in Kilver Court Gardens in Somerset. She was inspired by the idea of a bohemian wedding, with nothing too commercialised. Here are a few words from Julia about her wedding day: “I was attracted by the idea of a rustic bohemian wedding with nothing too commercialised. It had to be down to earth and incorporating the things I love; poetry, nature and my love of my family and my Somerset roots. As I wanted the whole day to be personal, small and from the heart, a lot was homemade. My whole family…

Eleanor was delighted she could wear the same dress on both occasions, and she looked beautiful both times! On their wedding day, Eleanor and Bruce entered the ceremony to Bike by Pink Floyd, while…

Nicaraguan and Scottish Wedding

Beautiful Nicaraguan and Scottish Wedding Natalia had so so many things organised for her absolutely epic barn wedding in Knockraich of Fintry. However, she didn’t have her dress organised – I think we started with only about 7 weeks to go. Natalia was hugely involved, she really has an eye for design and details. Natalia’s mum is from Nicaragua, the ideas and designs Natalia was going for had a real Latin feel to them. The venue was dressed from top to tail the day before by the bride and groom, their families and anyone who cared to help (which was…

Beautiful Blue Wedding Dress

Beautiful blue dress in silk panels Susan had all the ideas and thoughts about her wedding, but when she came to me, she knew the only thing she had not got organised was her dress. She had been frustrated by the lack of individuality in the dresses available to buy in the traditional shops. Susan’s favourite colour is blue and she suits that colour so so much. It was, therefore, the obvious colour for her wedding dress. Susan chose a blue silk dress in panels, with internal lace up and buttons and loops at the back. She then had a…

Romantic Wedding dress for Castle Wedding

Edinburgh Castle Wedding I hope I don’t upset anyone by saying that when Natalie came to see me the first time, she already had a dress. She was pressured to buy the dress in a shop and this resulted in her disliking the dress.  They said to her, “if you don’t buy today you will not have a dress for your wedding”. After the rushed decision, she decided the dress wasn’t for her. She really wanted to wear something special she had chosen. She came to see me with some lovely stylish photographs she had chosen from Pinterest. We chose a…
