Edinburgh University Tartan Dress

Edinburgh University Tartan wedding dress

A stunning Edinburgh University tartan dress. The Dress Patricia’s outfit consisted of a two-piece with a short knee-grazing georgette skirt on the bottom and a corset-style bodice on top. The bodice is made up of tartan and chantilly lace. The chantilly lace muted the colours of the tartan on the bodice, which helped them pop on the sleeves. Additionally, the lace is similar to the style on Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, which is popular and super elegant. Short dresses are something we don’t do a lot of. However, we love them and wish we did more!! The Tartan The couple…

Zibeline and Chantilly for beautiful Spring Wedding

Zibeline and Chantilly lace skirt, a beautiful combination for Ruth’s wedding dress Not many people nows of Zibeline fabric yet, so beautiful. It is very heavy and textured and makes a lovely contrast to the very fine and delicate Chantilly lace.  Ruth chooses to have a bespoke wedding made by us.  She decided that after meetings with discussions about the designs and materials. Ruth tried our collection dresses on and used them as inspiration. Ruth liked experimenting with skirt shapes and styles. The bride’s Mum and sister came to all the fittings. It was a really fun process, where everybody had…

Green Spring Silk Lace Wedding Dress

What an excitement to get asked to make this green silk lace wedding dress for Maxine. Green silk and lace Wedding Dress When she came to see me she pretty much had her whole wedding organised, apart from her dress. Maxine had a vision in green, but nothing set in stone. She wanted colour texture and not the usual wedding dress, she wanted to be able to dance and move and and feel fab and flatter her shape. So with all of that taken into account, we looked at a lot of materials and green colours and vintage style laces….

Simple Silk Crepe Wedding Dress and Jacket

Simple silk Crepe Wedding Dress and jacket was the brief from Sophie. At our first meeting Sophie had a really good idea what she would like, so together we developed the ideas and chose the silk crepe for the simple dress and jacket. The silk had a sand-washed finished, so it was so soft, it felt like a peach. Sophie then chose a lace for the back detail of the dress. Because the dress was so simple it was important with beautiful details such as little buttons down the back and on the sleeves. We knew she needed some kind…

hill chase wedding

Elsie’s wedding day started off with a hill chase! Elsie and Grant started their wedding day with a hill chase up their local hill. The perfect start to their day! Their venue was The Village Club in Strathblane and this was the perfect setting for their wedding. We loved making Elsie’s dress for her special day. It was made from ivory silk chiffon with a ruched bodice and a sweetheart neckline. It also had lace straps and a skimming full-length skirt with a long train. “I had no idea what style of dress I wanted other than white and long….

A beautiful bespoke dress for a wedding on the water We thoroughly enjoyed working with Lindsay to create her bespoke wedding dress. it is one of our favourite wedding dresses. Here are some words from her about the dress and about her gorgeous day: “I went to Mette with a vague idea of what I wanted. A Pinterest, a bridesmaid and a friend, and a few hours later had a drawing of a dress that I loved! Mette knew exactly what I wanted. Even before I did! She picked out details that featured several times in the ideas that I…

Borthwick Castle Wedding

Stunning dress at Borthwick Castle Borthwick Castle is a beautiful venue, and so needed a beautiful dress. This beautiful bride came to me with ideas of nude-champagne colours, gold thread, beaded embellishments and silk mesh. This was altogether in a soft layered textured combination for her beautiful wedding dress. We absolutely love the results. I want to show you a little about how the dress was constructed. As it had many layers, we, therefore, had to make the dress in stages. We started with the silk base and then added the beaded lace over the skirt. Then on the dummy,…

Wedding at Dunblane Cathedral

Dunblane Cathedral Wedding Amanda’s wedding took place at the stunning Dunblane Cathedral. They had their wedding reception in the old church’s house and then went for an evening meal at  Cromlix.  She was a wonderful bride to work with, and her beautiful dress was full length with a high neck and long sleeves. It was made from silk crepe, and we hand embroidered the embellishment on the bodice. This, therefore, gave it a really elegant look; Amanda looked stunning on the day. Also, they had an old Volkswagen (courtesy of VW Affection) it was fantastic! Especially considering the care that has gone…

Nature Inspired Wedding

Beautiful bohemian style wedding Julia’s beautiful wedding took place in Kilver Court Gardens in Somerset. She was inspired by the idea of a bohemian wedding, with nothing too commercialised. Here are a few words from Julia about her wedding day: “I was attracted by the idea of a rustic bohemian wedding with nothing too commercialised. It had to be down to earth and incorporating the things I love; poetry, nature and my love of my family and my Somerset roots. As I wanted the whole day to be personal, small and from the heart, a lot was homemade. My whole family…
