A stunning Malaysian wedding Jade and her husband are both Malaysian, and so decided to have Malaysian wedding celebrations in the UK and Kuala Lumpur. They both have studied and worked in the UK and so were delighted to invite their family over. After their Cambridge celebrations, they flew to Kuala Lumpur for a 3-day event where she wore her wedding dress, as well as beautiful traditional Malaysian dress. Jade and I shared a Pinterest board to exchange ideas, which was filled with western wedding dresses with oriental influences. Things such as kimono bows, etc. Her dress was made from crisp…

Elegant wedding dress for Highland Wedding

Fiona had a simple yet elegant wedding dress Sometimes, less is more! Especially with dresses such as this. Fiona’s dress was wonderfully simple. The dress had lovely clean lines, with a fitted and slightly structured bodice and a loosely fitted and flowing skirt.  The bodice had a high neckline and subtle lace overlay to add some texture. The skirt was plain pure silk crepe and with a full length with a train. Therefore, this made for a classic, elegant wedding dress. Around the waist, there was a beaded embellished belt which added a little extra sparkle. Fiona also wore a cathedral length…

New York Wedding in Guipure Lace

It’s always exciting to create dresses for weddings in other destinations, so when Michelle came to us for her dress for her New York wedding, we couldn’t wait to get started! It took two days to travel there in the snow chaos, but Michelle’s New York wedding was wonderful! She had a full-length dress, with a V-shaped neckline and back. The bodice was fitted, with a guipure lace overlay which created three-quarter length sleeves. The skirt of the dress was beautifully simple, it was French silk chiffon, plain and loosely fitting. Therefore, this gave it a soft, flowing feel which looked…

Wedding Dress for a friends beautiful daughter

When Sarah’s dad asked me to make her wedding dress, I was really excited. I have known Sarah for many years as I am friends with her dad, and so when I was asked to make her wedding dress I was really excited. The dress had a fitted bodice, with a sea pearl coloured lace overlay. The dress had a strapless sweetheart neckline, but the lace overlay created a V-shaped neck over this and long sleeves. This, therefore, gave the dress a lovely elegant feel to it. The skirt of the dress was a pale pink colour. It was loosely fitted with multiple…

Simple lace wedding dress

Elizabeth had a gorgeous simple lace wedding dress. Elizabeth had a simple lace wedding dress, and although it was simple it was stunning. Sea pearl coloured silk backed the dress, and the cool colours of the lace and the sea pearl really suited her skin tone. The dress had a simple silhouette, being fitted at the top with a straight skirt. It was full length, to just above the ankles and also had a small slit in the back. The bodice had a high neck, high back and long lace sleeves; this gave it a beautiful, elegant look. Their wedding…

Beautiful Tenerife destination wedding

Destination weddings are always exciting, so when Hazel mentioned her wedding was in Tenerife, we knew it would be great fun to make her dress! Hazel’s husband is from Tenerife, and so for their wedding, they decided to jet out to Tenerife. It was beautiful, and their family all flew out to have a lovely few days in the sunshine for their wedding. Hazel’s “dress” wasn’t quite a dress – she has two skirts and a bodice which she mixed and matched! This was a perfect idea for Tenerife, as it meant she could have the long, more traditional style…

Silk crepe for Merchants Hall wedding

Rachel had a lovely silk dress for her wedding. Rachel’s dress was beautiful and made from silk. I was over the moon to hear Rachel wanted us to design and make her wedding dress. She is a well-known face and pretty much all my mum friends have been to Monkey Music Edinburgh. She has created such a wonderful business with the best reputation. Rachel had picked a lovely lot of wedding suppliers, whose work I all adore, so it was a lovely handful of beautiful work delivered to her and Ray’s big day. We used a silk crepe for the softly…

Bespoke Dress for Boat Ceremony

Here are some words from her about the dress and about her gorgeous day: “I went to Mette with a vague idea of what I wanted. A Pinterest, a bridesmaid and a friend, and a few hours later had a drawing of a dress that I loved! Mette knew exactly what I wanted. Even before I did! She picked out details that featured several times in the ideas that I…

Borthwick Castle Wedding

Stunning dress at Borthwick Castle Borthwick Castle is a beautiful venue, and so needed a beautiful dress. This beautiful bride came to me with ideas of nude-champagne colours, gold thread, beaded embellishments and silk mesh. This was altogether in a soft layered textured combination for her beautiful wedding dress. We absolutely love the results. I want to show you a little about how the dress was constructed. As it had many layers, we, therefore, had to make the dress in stages. We started with the silk base and then added the beaded lace over the skirt. Then on the dummy,…
